It was with great sadness that we heard the news that Philippe Lacoue-Labarthe has passed away. When we had the great good fortune to film him he was already not very well, but the pleasure of that moment was that his thought remained very much alive, and this can be seen, we believe, in his eyes and in his gestures. There was perhaps no other thinker for whom the question of Heidegger's politics was so passionate, a passion affecting Philippe at his heart. We owe him a debt of gratitude, and he will be sorely missed, for his thought and for himself.
