Titanium Nitride, or TiN, is a hard ceramic material that resists wear and has good thermal and electrical conductivity. It is widely used for coatings due to its unique qualities. The following are the most common applications for Titanium Nitride.

Cutting tools

The tin-coating is used commonly on cutting tools, such as drills and end mills. The coating reduces friction and increases wear resistance, allowing for faster and more precise cutting.

Machine Tooling

The coating is applied onto machine tool parts such as dies or molds. The coating offers excellent wear resistance, and reduces friction.

Medical Implants

Titanium Nitride can be used to cover medical implants. It is biocompatible. It is applied on implants to improve biocompatibility, prevent corrosion, and reduce wear.
